Healing Promotion of Diabetic Ulcers

Healing promotion of diabetic ulcers was verified in a study published in 2015 (Kwan et al.). Non-healing ulcers are not only the main reason for amputations of lower limbs, but also of high mortality of diabetic patients.

The analysis of the results showed increased blood flow velocity in skin capillaries by 28% in patients who received pulsed magnetic therapy. In addition, their capillaries expanded by 14%.

In the control group (without applications of pulsed magnetic field), increase in blood flow velocity did not occur, nor did expansion of capillaries.

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study thus again confirmed that treatment with pulsed magnetic therapy can significantly improve microcirculation and accelerate healing of ulcers in diabetic patients.
