Management of Pain Related to Musculoskeletal and Neurological Disorders
Management of pain related to musculoskeletal and neurological disorders
using the analgesic effects of non-invasive peripheral magnetic stimulation therapy was again clinically tested in a group of 40 patients at Charles University in Prague (2016).
The main role was played by acute and chronic conditions limiting patients’ mobility due to the extent and intolerability of pain. Patients suffering from acute pain underwent magnetic therapy daily, while those suffering from chronic conditions did so three times a week. The decisive factor for the research team was the degree of pain relief and therefore the alleviation of related difficulties in performing activities of daily living.
Comparison in patients before and after pulsed magnetic field treatment again showed a statistically significant difference. The majority of participants (87%) confirmed the analgesic effect of magnetic stimulation by significant pain relief. More than 41% of patients praised the improvement in overall vitality and ease of daily activities, even after the three-month follow-up.
Thus, the results of this study once again confirmed the benefits and effectiveness of pulsed magnetic therapy in the treatment of painful conditions, whether related to musculoskeletal or neurological disorders, including those that limit activities of daily living. Pulsed magnetic fields can then be used to achieve lasting pain relief and an overall improvement in the patient’s quality of life.
